Bill Travers is no stranger to the mountains. He was born and raised near the Laurel Highlands (Somerset County) in South Western Pennsylvania for 32 years.
Having found Highlands on a summer family trip in 2000, Bill immediately fell in love with the town and its people.
Bill and his wife, Marianela, along with their two boys, were always dreaming of “what could be” if they could make their move to the Plateau. They purchased land in Macon County in 2004 with dreams of building a home. They’ve never missed a summer and/or fall on the plateau and feel like it’s their calling to be living and being involved in the town of Highlands.
Since 1998 Bill has been licensed in Florida and has sold millions of dollars in property. He has worked in residential homes sales with resales and in new construction with builders such as Toll Brothers, Pulte Homes, WCI Communities, and Lennar Homes. The opportunity to augment his skills into The Highlands & Cashiers area became a dream come true in 2021 when he obtained his North Carolina real estate brokers license. “To be able to sell the Sunshine State of Florida and the Height of Happiness in Highlands, is a career dream come true”.
His 24 years of experience selling real estate has shaped his skills as a well versed and experienced real estate broker. Bill currently owns his own brokerage in Sarasota under the name “Sarasota Communities Real Estate", where he specializes in representing residential home buyers and sellers, in the Sarasota, Venice, Bradenton, and Lakewood Ranch areas. Bill is an avid marketing property presenter on all social media platforms such as; YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, under Sarasota Communities & TheRealBillTravers and is excited at the opportunity of marketing the beautiful homes that dot the landscape in the mountains of NC.
When not working in real estate, Bill can be found DJ’ing at The Highlands High Dive on Friday & Saturday nights or doing his one man live drum shows that encompass digital media and multiple genres of music streaming online or at various venues. He loves the community, arts, and the energy that Highlands provides and is grateful to be part of the close knit community that is rich with life here on the plateau.
